Ramla Bay is the largest sandy beach on the
island of Gozo and it is also considered to
be the best.
The beach is
very popular with both Maltese residents and
especially from the nearby seaside resort of
Marsalforn. However, the beach is quite
large and seldom overcrowded.
Maltese name is 'Ir-Ramla il-Hamra',
originating from the reddish sand. The soft
sand is backed by dunes thick with
tamarisk and bamboo. The water is very clear
