Malta is situated in
the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, about 80
kilometres south of Sicily. It covers 316 kmē in
land area and is the largest of the three major
islands that constitute the Maltese archipelago.
The capital city is Valletta, while the largest city
is Birkirkara. The other inhabited islands are Gozo
and Comino, both are seen in the north-western
corner of the map.
